Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic who is also a popular public speaking event organizer. Feminist Frequency is a site with video and an online blog analysing portrayals female characters in popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian has been a journalist, media critic and award-winning feminist for over 10 years. Feminist Frequency is a non-for profit educational site that explores the representation of women in pop culture narratives - is created and is directed by Sarkeesian. Destroying stereotypes about women are the main goals of her work. In addition, Sarkeesian highlights issues related to targeted harassment against women online and other minorities which have been marginalized. Sarkeesian holds a Masters in the field of political and social thought from York University. As a public speaker, she's extremely sought-after and has spoken at TEDxWomenXOXO as well as the United Nations Broadband Working Group.
